IEP goals need to be actionable and measurable. But how do you write goals to meet executive functioning and social-emotional needs? Many of our kids have "self-advocacy" as a goal but how do you measure progress? 

Join us for a presentation and Q&A explaining good practices for SMART goals. SMART goals are goals that are: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Results-oriented or Relevant, and Time-bound. We'll show examples of executive functioning and social-emotional goals, which can be especially challenging.  We'll also discuss what accommodations can be added to an IEP to support students’ interactions with peers and how accommodations can be extended to include extracurricular activities.  

There will be a focus on establishing valid "present levels" as the key to creating corresponding SMART goals.

The presentation will be followed by questions and answers from parents. Come and get your questions answered!

También discutiremos qué adaptaciones se pueden agregar a un IEP para apoyar las interacciones de los estudiantes con sus compañeros y cómo se pueden ampliar las adaptaciones para incluir actividades extracurriculares.
