With summer quickly approaching, it’s an important time to discuss strategies on how to keep children and teens on the autism spectrum safe as they navigate summer school, their neighborhoods, and the community. Officer Laurie Reyes of the Montgomery County Police Department’s Autism, IDD, and Alzheimer's Outreach Unit will discuss her team’s nationally recognized strategies and responses to keep those who have a propensity to wander/elope safe.

After Officer Reyes’ talk, we’ll have some social time to enjoy refreshments, bid good luck and thank you to our Executive Director Monica Martinez who is transitioning into a professional role as an autism advocate and get to know our incoming Executive Director Sue Keisler, who currently serves on as the Treasurer and Strategic Planning Chair of the xMinds Board of Directors.

This event is interactive; there will be active participation from attendees.
